Setting up and running your Group
To help you as you work out how to structure and organise yourselves, define vision, aims and objectives, writing a business/work plan, consider funding options, measuring your impact and more, we have teamed up with award winning social enterprise Iridescent Ideas to bring you an array of bite-sized resources – facts, group activities and exercises, videos and more to help you navigate your way through and grow as a strong and healthy organisation. As a CAG Devon member you can access these resource for free here.
Insurance and Risk Assessments
As CAG Devon group members your activities/events are covered by public and product liability, assuming you have up-to-date risk assessments in place for your activities.
To help with your risk assessments, we strongly suggest you make use of the following resources:
- CAG Devon Risk Assessment Templates and Guidance – covering nearly every activity that CAG Devon groups undertake plus guidance on how to put your risk assessment together.
- Presentation slides from our April 21 webinar: “Getting back to it – running events safely”, where Pete Wills, Senior Consultant at Resource Futures, explores the issues which need consideration and measures that need to be taken to make events covid-secure, even now restrictions have ceased.
- Video from our April webinar: “Getting back to it – running events safely”.
A summary of the cover provided by the CAG Devon insurance policy can be found here. Contact the CAG Devon team for a copy of the detailed schedule.
CAG Devon Small Grants Scheme
CAG Devon has a small grants scheme available which periodically opens for applications from fully-signed up members of the network. You can read more about it here and, if an eligible group, apply here. It is currently closed, having offered 18 grants to member groups in March 2024. Grants of up to £300 are available to further CAG Devon groups’ work around repair, reuse, biodiversity and sustainability. There will be further grant rounds through 2024.
