Seaton Repair Café
Seaton Repair Café provides a place where residents can bring in broken items and have them fixed by skilled volunteers. Seaton Repair Café will be held on the second Saturday of every month at Seaton Library starting on the 13th of July.
With the slogan “Repair, Revive, Refresh, Reduce Waste” our Repair Café embodies the spirit of environmental consciousness and community engagement. The initiative not only reduces the amount of waste ending up in landfill, but also fosters a sense of connection in the community and promotes the sharing of knowledge and skills in a friendly space.
Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or a professional repair technician, Seaton Repair Café welcomes individuals of all skill levels to join us. Volunteers will have the opportunity to share their expertise, connect with like-minded individuals, and contribute to a more sustainable future for Seaton. Additionally, volunteering at our Repair Café offers a chance to give back to the community in a meaningful way and make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
We believe that many items can be repaired rather than replaced. By bringing together people with repair skills and those in need of repairs, we hope to empower our community to think differently about consumption and waste.
In an era where throwaway culture seems to dominate, our community group is taking a stand for sustainability and resourcefulness. Seaton Repair Café is a grassroots initiative aimed at reducing waste and promoting repair skills and we are looking for skilled individuals to join us as volunteer menders.
If you have a knack for fixing things and a passion for sustainability, consider becoming a volunteer mender at the Repair Café. Get in touch by filling in this form or emailing volunteer@seatonrepaircafe.org.uk.
Together, let’s roll up our sleeves, pick up our tools, and build a more resilient and resourceful community, one repair at a time.
