Dawlish Against Plastic
Dawlish Against Plastic was formed in March 2018.
We cover the town council boundary area of Dawlish, which includes Dawlish Warren and parts of Holcombe and Cockwood. We also work with local schools in Exminster, Kenn and Kenford.
We organise regular beach cleans, take our information and sales stall to community events, organise environmentally themed competitions, and give presentations to local groups.
In 2019, we achieved Surfers Against Sewage ‘Plastic Free Community’ status for Dawlish.
Our major project for 2020 was our first ‘Go-Green Fest’, a two-day festival in Dawlish exploring all things sustainable, which we have had to postpone until 2022, due to Covid19.
In addition to the eight volunteer members of our steering group, we have many others who help out at regular beach cleans. Everyone is welcome.
