Chudfix Repair Café

Chudfix Repair Café is based in Chudleigh, Devon. Chudfix was officially set up in January 2020 bringing together a wide range of people motivated by a diverse set of reasons including:

• concerns for the environment
• a dislike of the growing throwaway culture
• a desire to meet new people
• to help others in our community
• a love of fixing things and tinkering
• or the joy of passing on new skills.

Our first Repair Café was held on 29 February 2020 and was a huge success. In just 2.5 hours our fixers checked 52 items, repaired 30 of them (58%) and offered advice and information about a new part on a further 11 items (21%). 25 volunteers helped on the day and approximately 100 people attended on the morning of the café. All agreed that there was a fantastic buzz in the air and a had a great sense of community spirit.

The Chudfix Repair Café now runs approximately every two months with dates been agreed at the start of the year. They are held on a Saturday morning between 10am – 12.30pm at Chudleigh Primary school.  You can contact us or find the date of our next event on our Facebook page.
