Goodwill Community Holdings CIC was formed in early 2024 with aims of starting a little free library, community fridge and volunteering scheme plus our community allotment site. We run the library which has grown with 1000s of books for free as part of the little free library network (there is a worldwide map online available) and a lady kindly has taken on the role of librarian sorting many books into order!

The Community Fridge started in September and is now being used every day by many people from school parents to senior members of the community and we have a small team of volunteers to collect food. We aim to reduce food that’s going to be wasted and distribute it for free to the community.

The community allotment site has 15 plots and 25 people working and enjoying it. We have regular get togethers BBQs, and they put produce in community fridge and share it with each other. We won a wildlife award for site volunteers help on nursery and other projects. We are based at Grannypats Farm Shop, Goodwill Gardens Bickington.

Future plans are a toy library and we have had lots of donations. We plan to have a small café by next summer and become a small community hub. We are linked to our other CIC and do community lunches and craft fairs in village hall.
