Creative Communities Ilfracombe CIC is keen to help people to reduce waste, save money and look after the environment. We aim to  encourage and support community action, to prompt and bring about positive change and build beneficial connections and relationships.

Scrapstore and Creative Reuse Centre

We’re passionate about reducing waste and caring for our environment. We’re in the process of setting up a Scrapstore and Creative Reuse Centre in Ilfracombe, with a focus on textiles as well as other reclaimed items and surplus/clean waste items from local businesses and individuals. We’ll be running workshops to help people learn how to repair, revamp or repurpose textile items and also plan other workshops about sustainability and repurposing/reusing items.

Sharing resources

We believe in reusing and sharing resources and this includes tools and equipment, so we plan to set up a Library of Things. We also have plans for a Borrow and Bring Library, as well as a project to redistribute preloved games and toys.

Community strength

We understand that there is strength and resilience in communities and we work with local groups, organisations and individuals to ensure we reach out to as many people as possible. This can lead to us providing wellbeing packs, running workshops to create themed craftivist artworks, or helping people to keep their local area tidy by organising regular litter picks.
