Zero Mile Gardens
About us
Zero Mile Gardens CIC was established in 2024 in St Thomas, Exeter, to develop sustainable food-growing spaces and develop growing skills within our local community.
Our work is guided by a vision of a world where the food we grow, eat and share has as minimal on the planet and climate and contributes to regenerating our living environment and communities . To this end, we have partnered with the Alibi team to develop our first food-growing garden and plant nursery at Emmanuel Hall. There, we come together throughout the year for weekly gardening sessions to grow food and seedlings for the local community. We sell some of our product on a stall, at local markets and to a few local businesses.
Across the year, we run a range of workshops, learning activities and creative events for all ages, all focused on local food, community food growing, and gardening with as little impact as possible on our planet. To do so, we work in partnership with other local organisations and community groups and businesses, working together toward a fairer and more sustainable food system and joyful, resilient communities.
Anyone can join us on Thursday morning (9am-12pm) at the Alibi garden (EX4 1EJ). There is no prior experience required and there is work to do throughout the year.
