Welcoming Laura – Together for Tomorrow Partnerships Lead

Thursday, 2 October 2025/CAG Devon updates, News/Molly Turner

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from the CAG Devon Network. Say hello to the newest addition to our team:  Laura Buchanan, the CAG Devon Partnerships Lead for the new ‘Together for Tomorrow’ Project

I’m looking forward to starting the new ‘Together for Tomorrow’ project working with CAG Devon and Libraries Unlimited.

I have been working at the University of Exeter for the last 7 years project managing collaborative projects between academia and industry. In 2025 I did a secondment with the Sustainability Team to support them with setting up a Repair Café and helping with their Gift It Reuse It Scheme which sees students donate 100s of household items which are available free for the next years intake of students.

In addition to working at the University, I also worked for Sustainable Tiverton, setting up their Share Shop – A library of Things. I was responsible for getting the project launched and recruiting and training volunteers to run the project.

I also have an interest in fashion reuse and have set up a number of workplace and community clothes swaps. I really enjoy putting on these events and encouraging everyone to donate items they no longer wear and swap them for something they will cherish.

I also live on a smallholding so food, growing and nature friendly gardening are all things which are very important to me.

The ‘Together for Tomorrow’ project hopes to expand and consolidate the fantastic work libraries are already doing around sustainability, and nature engagement. The 5 year project gives us the opportunity to begin with some community research and consultation which will enable the public and stakeholders to shape the direction of the project.
