Biosphere Communities Project: Celebrating Community Action in North Devon

Friday, 8 August 2025/News, Topic/Molly Turner

CAG Devon is pleased to work alongside the Biosphere Communities team to support and amplify grassroots climate action, helping local groups connect, share knowledge, and build more resilient, sustainable communities across North Devon.

We’re loving this brilliant new video introducing the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Communities Project and the inspiring work of their Community Animators. This short film beautifully captures the energy, creativity, and commitment of local groups working together to build a greener, more resilient future.

The video features three of our amazing CAG Devon member groups who are leading the way in community-led climate action:

  • South Molton Community Garden
  • Ashreigney & Riddlecombe Nature Recovery Group
  • Sustainable Chulmleigh

These groups are part of a growing movement across North Devon, demonstrating how grassroots action can make a real difference in tackling climate change, restoring nature, and strengthening local communities.

Back in July, we had the pleasure of attending the Devon Local Nature Partnership Wild About Devon summer forum event, held in conjunction with North Devon Biosphere. As part of the event, we visited South Molton Community Garden—a highlight of the day! It was fantastic to see firsthand the value of volunteering and the positive impact it has within communities.
