We’re excited to announce that CAG Devon is part of Together for Tomorrow, a bold new five-year climate action programme, made possible by £1.5 million in National Lottery funding.

Libraries as Hubs for Sustainability
Libraries Unlimited, in partnership with Resource Futures (through CAG Devon), are spearheading this project, which will transform libraries into vibrant community spaces dedicated to reuse, repair and sustainable community action, creating lasting change at a local level.
Libraries have long been trusted and accessible spaces for local communities, with many CAG groups already delivering projects there, and Together for Tomorrow aims to further harness their potential to drive local climate action.
Over the next five years, libraries across Devon will become thriving hubs for practical sustainability efforts – from repair cafés and community fridges to launching growing schemes, sewing groups, and low-waste living workshops.
“We’re thrilled to be co-leading this ambitious initiative that empowers communities to take meaningful, everyday climate action… CAG Devon has shown just how much creativity and commitment exists locally. To build on that, and to help new ideas get started, groups need time, space, and opportunities to connect. Together for Tomorrow will help create the conditions to make that happen.”- Charlie Eddisford, Communities Lead at Resource Futures.
Building a Network for Change
The programme will connect new and existing groups, provide training and resources, and empower communities to turn ideas into impactful action. The goal? To reduce waste, promote sustainable living, and introduce new audiences to climate action.
At its core, the project embraces the vision of “more people, doing more things, more of the time”—with inclusion, resilience, and community connection at the heart of it all.
“Libraries are at the heart of our communities, so it makes perfect sense for them to be a catalyst for change. Together for Tomorrow will bring people together through collaboration, creativity and shared learning – creating a model of community-led climate action that others across the UK can follow. Real change starts where people are – and for many, that’s their local library.” – Alex Kittow, Chief Executive of Libraries Unlimited.
A Collective Effort
Together for Tomorrow brings together a diverse collaboration of community groups and organisations, each rooted in their local area and playing an active role in shaping and delivering climate action. Some of the incredible community groups involved include:
- Action for Climate Teignbridge (ACT)
- Blackdown Hills EcoHub
- Proper Job
- Earth Action North Devon
- Sustainable Tiverton
- Sustainable South Hams
- Transition Exmouth
- Uffculme Green Team
These groups will contribute skill sharing, networking, toolkit development, and peer mentoring, ensuring communities have the knowledge and support to take meaningful action.
Additionally, Active Devon, Honeyscribe, and Ride-On Cycling will play a crucial role in community outreach, ensuring communities have the resources, knowledge, and support to make sustainability a natural part of daily life.
To further strengthen the programme, Devon Community Foundation and Devon Communities Together will provide additional fundraising and engagement support.
Aligning with the Devon Carbon Plan
Funded through the National Lottery Climate Action Fund, Together for Tomorrow aligns with the Devon Carbon Plan, which outlines a roadmap to net-zero emissions by 2050.
