Sustainable Bishop
About us
Sustainable Bishop is a small community group with big ambitions placing sustainability, the environment and climate change at its core. Working with the Parish Council we have ongoing tree planting and environmental projects. Our aim is to raise awareness and to achieve some successful climate change / environmental projects.
What we do
We like activities which are achievable within our skills set. Our current projects include community gardening on a monthly basis, litter picks twice a year, various tree/hedge planting as and when needed during the autumn/winter. We are focusing on textiles waste in the forms of clothes swaps and hope to link other activities to those. We assist with our community orchard and will be apple pressing later in the year. We held our first bio-blitz in Spring and will do more. We are trying to work with other community organisations and have installed a small garden area in the community centre (old playground) to increase biodiversity and green infrastructure. Future ideas include setting up a library of things, and a community larder.
Below is a snapshot video of what we got up to in 2021!
Everyone is welcome to join us and get involve in whatever way they can.
