To celebrate Sustainable Fashion Week Proper Job are collaborating with the wonderful Sara Halsey of ReWorked and Susan Breedijk of the Green Attic to host a fantastic Textile Re-Workshop!
Do you have clothing or textiles cluttering up your cupboards that that don’t fit well, are surplus to requirements, have holes or damage? Do not throw them away! Instead bring your item along and learn how to rejuvenate and revamp it and give it a whole new lease of life! Coats can become dresses, dresses can become skirts or aprons, t-shirts can be scarves, trousers handbags, old textiles can become peg bags, cushion covers… the possibilities are almost endless! Adorn tired clothing or textiles with buttons, pleats, bows, collars or ruffles.
The workshop will be held on Saturday 21st September, 10.00am-1.00pm, at The Clubhouse, War Memorial Playing Fields, Chagford. The workshop costs £15+ booking fee. Materials will be provided but if you have a sewing machine it would be helpful to bring it along. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Free parking is available at The Clubhouse. From Chagford Square follow Mill Street and then take the left hand fork on to Manor Road. At the bottom of Manor Road take the track on the left and follow the drive.
The objectives of the Proper Job Resource Centre are the protection and preservation of the environment by the promotion of waste reduction, re-use and recycling and advancing education of the general public about all aspects of waste generation, waste management and waste recycling.
