Community Action for Rewilding

Friday, 20 March @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

This event is free to attend and open to all volunteers of groups in the CAG Devon network, and members of Devon Rewilding Network.

About the event:

CAG Devon is teaming up with the Devon Rewilding Network for a joint learning day focused on strengthening community involvement in rewilding and nature recovery.

The day includes:

  • morning of short talks (with Q&A) at Umberleigh Village Hall, showcasing projects putting nature and community at the heart of their work.
  • An afternoon visit to Luckymoor Rewilding, with landowners Pete and Jane Kelly, to see nature recovery in action, get hands-on with a practical activity, and explore opportunities for nearby land to be rewilded as a community.

Throughout the day, we’ll look at different models for community‑led nature recovery – from land‑purchase approaches (including CICs), to working with town and parish councils, plus wider ways to empower local people to protect and restore nature.

The day offers a great opportunity to connect, learn and spark new ideas for your own projects, and support locally driven nature recovery across Devon.
