#PlasticFreeJuly – are you up to the challenge?

Thursday, 1 July 2021/News, Plastic reduction, Topic, Waste and recycling/Helen Vines

As we tip into the second half of 2021, what’s your action going to be for #plasticfreejuly?

Plastic Free July® is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Plastic Free July provides brilliant resources and ideas to help you (and millions of others around the world) reduce single-use plastic waste everyday at home, work, school, at your local café, and in your CAG Devon group!

The movement has inspired an estimated 326 million participants in 177 countries. You making a small change will collectively make a massive difference to our communities. You can choose to refuse single-use plastics in July (and beyond!). Best of all, being part of Plastic Free July will help you to find great alternatives that can become new habits forever.

Many CAG Devon groups have already achieved Plastic Free Community status from Surfers against Sewage, the latest being Plastic Free Newton Abbot.  Several others are working towards this great award. This is another great initiative encouraging people to take small steps which collectively can make a huge difference in tackling single use plastics.

Are you up for the challenge?
