We’d like to invite anyone interested in sharing their practical skills in creating Christmas wreaths, garlands, and decorations from natural or plant materials to join us for an afternoon of crafting in a polytunnel at our Blackdown Hills Eco Hub (Trimplants, Combe Raleigh – bottom field). We’ll discuss practical ideas on how we can all reduce plastic, waste and excessive spending on often unwanted ‘things’ and have a more authentic and stress free Christmas, putting those we love at the centre. Don’t bin any decorations you already have that could be added to your creation, reuse, repurposing and extending the life of what we already own is important.
Trimplants will supply plant materials, you’re welcome of course to also bring your own. Please dress up warmly as we’ll be in a very well ventilated polytunnel (thus reducing any Covid risk)! Please bring gloves and secateurs if you need them.
We will have hot drinks available, a mince pie and some hot wine to finish with.
You’ll also have an opportunity to purchase plants if you wish. All proceeds will go to our Blackdown Hills Transition Group / Trimplants Eco Hub fund.
It is still possible to catch and spread COVID-19, even if you are fully vaccinated. We’d like to ask if you have any cold/flu like symptoms on the day to not take any risks in spreading the disease and stay at home. We want to play our part in mitigating any transmission.
Check out our Facebook event for further info.
We look forward to seeing you there.
