DO you have household items which are broken and are too expensive to get repaired? If you do, don’t send them to land fill – take them along to the Repair Cafe at Crediton Methodist Church where a team of experts is on-hand to try and repair them. Crediton Repair Cafe was launched in November 2018 and is due to take place every other month with full details on the Facebook page.
The Repair Cafe is part on an international movement to provide repair services for household items which would otherwise be deemed not worth repairing and thrown away. The aim is for volunteers to share their skills and help people fix things, whilst providing a warm welcoming atmosphere.
Volunteers mend items including; sewing, sharpening tools, electrical works or kitchen appliances, as well as welcoming people and serving tea and cake. If you would like to get involved or have any questions contact Ian on 07578 690226, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org .
There will be free advice and guidance and the items people take along for repair must be portable and not large items.
Donations would be welcomed from those who use the Repair Cafe.
Admission is free-of-charge and tea, coffee and cakes will be available during the event.
